If an Effortlessly Cool Wedding was the memo, then Naomi & Daniel definitely got it!
Despite living in the beautiful Cambridge, they felt the pull back to the city where
they met and their partnership flourished – nothing could be better for the start of
their next chapter, than a bright and colourful Edinburgh wedding!
During a laid back and chilled morning, the bride squad were able to enjoy laughter and mimosa’s as they got ready.
Our bride let the group chose their own outfits, with a colour palette in mind and they all nailed it – creating an extremely cool mismatch vibe! Glam was in full swing for the full squad, with bridal beauty expert Claire Nisbet Bridal.
Naomi’s dress was a simply beautiful creation from The Pantry Bridalwear (with a little surprise for later in the day …) serving vintage queen and it was complimented perfectly with an eclectic and colourful bouquet from Days of Dahlia!
As bridal prep was a stone’s throw away from their wedding venue – Summerhall, they were able to build up the excitement and anticipation with a short walk through the city on their way to the ceremony, where Daniel and their guests were waiting for them.
The ceremony space in Summerhall lended itself to the kitschy-cool feel of the day. Its walls filled with 1000 origami swans made by their guests and accompanied by the colourful signage made by I Like Pens Studio. During their light-hearted ceremony where they shared their vows and a traditional Scottish handfasting (a symbolic ritual where a couple’s hands are tied together to represent their commitment to each other). Daniel and Naomi’s little girl ran to join them during, and really took centre stage – you couldn’t find a cooler girl in a lilac dress! Their niece did an incredible job as ringbearer, perfectly completing their wonderfully personal ceremony! The room was filled to the brim, bursting with family and friends’, laughter and love.
Walking back down the aisle into a shower of colour really encapsulated what a beautifully bright marriage this will be!
The gorgeous walls of Summerhall hosting the laughs and cheers to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs.
The colourful flutters of love-heart confetti littered the floor from the aftermath and proved a huge hit with the little ones!!
With effortless cool-chic in every step, we took to the Edinburgh streets and the iconic Edinburgh Park, The Meadows, for our laid-back wedding portraits. Turning the heads of passersby and making them swoon at how unbelievably awesome this couple were, we stopped at a café for a little Parisian moment, before heading back to the venue to celebrate on the steps with the totally joyful Bridal party.
Remember that surprise in the dress I mentioned?? Naomi was able to remove the top layer of the dress, revealing a chic white slip and transforming the bow detail into a tremendous bow for her hair! Creating a stunning evening outfit!
Forget an outfit change this is outfit elevation, a perfect concept for keeping your chosen dress on, but changing it to a completely different look for evening. Major swoon!
After an epic cake cut Naomi and Daniel took to the dancefloor for a first dance twirling to ‘Home’ (Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros) performed by The Jiggers Band, which was promptly followed by partying, prancing and polaroids! The Jiggers Band kept everyone dancing with traditional Scottish Ceilidh that was equally exhausting and exhilarating ending the night on an amazing high! Finishing off by hitting the stairs with the bride squad for sunglasses, poses and prosecco!
WHAT. A. DAY!
Thanks Naomi and Daniel for letting me be a part of this fabulously fun and colourful day! You truly are a phenomenal couple!
